This image explores one of the myriad possible patterns to be had by using prime numbers as the mathematical basis for a geometric design. Everything about this image is based on prime numbers. Here I've used the first 7 prime numbers (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, and 13) along with the identity element (1) to create a pleasing but slightly irregular basic arrangement. By mirroring this pattern I ended up with a sort of Yin and Yang light and dark combination that really strikes me as beautiful in its simplicity. Additionally, there are 17 gold bars connecting the objects in the foreground pattern, and there are 7 glass sections hovering beneath them. |
